The people walking in darkness will see a great light. Upon those dwelling in the land of the shadow of death, light will shine.”

Isaiah 9:1 TLV

In the beginning God was Light and everything was good. A shadow came to the Light demanding to become the new light. God rejected the shadow and cast down the darkness to the void. The shadow crept and watched as the Light created new beings. The shadow vowed to destroy the Light’s creation. The shadow corrupted the new beings and the Light had to cast them out of paradise. However, a vow was created that one day the Light would reunite His creation with Himself. 1000s of years went by and the promise started to unfold. The Light sent His son down to us. Our Messiah. Our Redeemer. Our King. The shadow smirked and laughed. The Light was a baby. “What can a mere baby do!? I will destroy it!” said the darkness. And did it try. First, all the baby boys were killed. Then it tempted the Light in the wilderness. Then the darkness succeeded. It got the Light’s own creation to put Him on a cursed tree. On a cross. The Light was dead! The darkness thought it had won. But then the Light shone now brighter than ever! The Light came back! Not only did He resurrect, but the Light paved the way for His creation to come back to Him. To come back home!

Christmas Eve is the darkness before the Light comes. It is the night before Hope arrives. The last night the darkness believes it has won. Tonight hold up your candle and be reminded of the victory of the Light.

Jesus, You are the Light! You have overcome the darkness in this world. You have come to rescue me! I rejoice in Your goodness. Amen.

Be blessed and know that you are loved by YeHoVaH through Messiah Yeshua and the Ruach ha-Kodesh lives within you.
