Jesus is the Resurrection

“Yeshua said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life! Whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11:25 TLV

If I was a Jew living in the time of Jesus and I sided with the Pharisees, then I believed that a resurrection would happen one day. When Ezekiel was in the valley of dry bones, this is what God told him:

“Therefore prophesy and say to them, thus says ADONAI Elohim: ‘Behold, I will open your graves. I will bring you up out of your graves, My people. I will bring you back to the land of Israel. You will know that I am ADONAI, when I have opened your graves and brought you up out of your graves, My people. I will put My Ruach in you and you will live. I will place you in your own land. Then you will know that I, ADONAI, have spoken and that I have done it.” It is a declaration of ADONAI.” — Ezekiel 37:12–14 TLV

When Jesus came, He reminded Martha that her brother would be resurrected. She agreed, but she believed that it would happen one day. Jesus stopped her and said, “I am the resurrection and the life! Whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” Jesus is the resurrection. He is God. That one day that was spoken of is today. Jesus is our new life. He is our resurrection!

Jesus, I believe that You are more than a teacher. I believe that You are more than a prophet. I believe that You are the Son of God. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I know that I will be redeemed, and it’s through You, my LORD and Savior. Amen.
