The Full Armor of God

“Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil, and after you have done everything, to stand firm.”

Ephesians 6:13 TLV

Belt of Truth — There is only one Truth and that is the Truth of God. He is the absolute. I must put His Truth above all others.

Breastplate of Righteousness — My heart can be easily deceived. It pumps all the blood throughout the body and even into the brain. I must have righteousness not unrighteousness in me.

Shoes of the Gospel of Peace — I must be planted in God’s peace. His peace passes all understanding. His peace is not a typical peace. It is a peace in the middle of a storm. In the middle of the fire. In the middle of suffering. His peace will cause others to question why you have peace?

Shield of Faith — The devil has many tricks and he will shoot his lies at you. And the goal isn’t to kill you. It’s to distract you so they are fire arrows. You’ll be too busy trying to put out the fire as the devil and his demons move in on you. I will take up the Shield of Faith. Faith is acting on the Truth. And the Truth is Your Truth. It will cover me. Faith is not a feeling nor something that is gained. It is trusting wholeheartedly in You. Just like Peter didn’t understand why Jesus was telling him to cast his nets out again when he had been fishing all night. He did it not because he felt like it. He did it because Jesus told him to, FAITH. Take up your Shield of Faith and the devil will not be able to penetrate you.

Helmet of Salvation — My mind can be tricked. It can be deceived. So I shall put on the Helmet of Salvation. There is nothing the devil can do or say that will take away the gift of Grace that the Most High God gave me.

Sword of the Spirit — I will also have an offensive plan. I will proclaim God’s Word against the attacks of the enemies. I will meditate, memorize, and pray the Word of the God in all situations and in all things.

Jesus, You have given me everything I need to fend off the attacks of the devil and his demons. I will not be deceived nor forget. I will protect my soul. I will guard my heart. Thank You for doing Your part. You have already defeated the devil. I must simply stand my ground. God be with me. Amen.
