“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, One from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our pains. Yet we esteemed Him stricken, struck by God, and afflicted.”
Isaiah 53:3-4 TLV
The disciples looked at one another….
“What happened last night!!! How could Judus betray him!?!?! What are we going to do!?!?!” They desperately looked at one another as they panicked knowing their Rabbi, Yeshua, was taken. Fights broke out of going to break him out to running and hiding. In the end, they just looked at one another and froze. No one did anything. No one had seen or heard from Peter since it happened. There was talk that he pulled his sword on the temple guard. He was probably captured too thought some. “Wasn’t Yeshua supposed to lead us? Isn’t He the Messiah? The chosen One sent by ADONAI?” Silence overtook the room and the disciples just sat there. John, Yeshua’s mother, and some of the other women left. They were at least gonna be with Yeshua til the end. But most stayed in disbelief. “Is it over? Is there no hope?”
Today is Good Friday. On that day it was anything but good. Above is written how I think the disciples were on that day. Their emotions and disbelief of the situation. We know what happens Sunday. We know the ending. We’ve read the book and seen the movie. We know that Jesus conquers death and is the Victor!
Today some of you are like the disciples. Panicked, scared, in disbelief, and without hope. You are frozen in your situation and you don’t know what to do. There is always hope. It doesn’t matter what darkness you are in. Jesus has already conquered your situation! Look to Him on the cross and know that He is with you in your darkness.
Some of you are in your blessing. You’ve seen the resurrection in your story. You have a strong hope that produces a great light! Shine your light as Christ did so others can see!

God, You are my God! You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, down to us to die for us. I am blown away by that love. It makes me think of a song I sang as a kid. “Lord I lift Your name on high. Lord, I love to sing Your praises. I’m so glad You’re in my life. I’m so glad You came to save us. You came from heaven to earth to show the way. From the earth to the cross. My debt to pay. From the cross to the grave. From the grave to the sky. Lord I lift Your name on high.” Jesus may I sing that song today knowing that You are my Savior!! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Be blessed and know that you are loved by YeHoVaH through Messiah Yeshua and the Ruach ha-Kodesh lives within you.
